When food shopping for the week it is important to buy a variety of different colored fruits and veggies. Make it a challenge for yourself and your family to buy at least one fruit or vegetable in each color and try to eat from each color every day.
Here's a list of what I had for fruits and veggies today:

Red: Strawberries & Tomato
Orange/Yellow: Carrots & Acorn Squash
Green: Green beans, pickle, & lettuce
Purple/Blue: blueberries
White: mushrooms & potatoes
Dressing up your plate with a variety of colors will make your meal not only healthier, but also more visually appealing. Taking the few minutes to add lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, or pickles to a sandwich makes it look like a deli specialty. If you feel like you're doing something special for yourself, you'll feel better eating it.
